Meet Bob
Robert (Bob) Nelson, brings over 30 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, and pharmaceutical leadership across multiple sectors of the life sciences industry. Bob has led large, complex organizations at the site, regional, and global level, including R&D, Animal Health, Vaccines, 503B outsourcing, and Human Health Ingredients manufacturing.
He has an extensive background in developing organizational strategy, leading large-scale change initiatives, and implementing Lean-driven Operational Excellence systems to improve performance, reliability, and culture. Bob has successfully guided teams through new facility startups, major capital projects, regulatory licensure, and the implementation of new operating models across multi-site networks.
In addition, he has deep experience supporting technical and operational teams as they adopt new systems and practices, including Manufacturing Operations Management tools, Reliability Engineering programs, predictive maintenance technologies, and cross-functional management systems. His leadership has consistently improved quality outcomes, strengthened equipment reliability, and enhanced workforce engagement.
Bob holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Yale University and an MBA from Western Michigan University. He is known for his collaborative leadership style, his commitment to developing strong teams, and his ability to guide organizations through periods of growth, transformation, and operational scale-up.
